If you thought that after the Redmi Note 5, Xiaomi is finally moving on from the Snapdragon 625 then, you might actually be wrong. A new leak has exposed a specification sheet of a new device reported to be the Redmi S2 which seems to be another budget offering from Xiaomi.

According to the specs sheet above, alongside the Snapdragon 625, the device spots a 1440×720 HD+ LCD Display, 16GB Internal Storage which makes us believe that there is 2GB RAM, 12MP+5MP Rear Cameras, a 5MP Front Camera, a 3080 mAh Battery & Android 8.1 Oreo. The specs also mention Face Unlock & availability in China & India.

The thing is, there are already a ton of budget devices available from Xiaomi & they are adding new devices in the list within every few months. So, if this listing is true then, we have two questions. First why have they paired a 720P Display with a Snapdragon 625? Second one is, why does the 16GB RAM option still exists in 2018?

Well, let’s wait for Xiaomi to announce the device officially & see what is the price they’ll keep for the Redmi S2. That might be the answer to these questions.
